After the last unlucky races during the DTM weekend we came to Zolder very hungry for a win. Spoiler alert: We didn’t win.
Again, P1 for the team in qualifying with an incredible time of 1:40.433.
I took the start of the 3 hours race. My stint went smooth, without any problems. The outside temperature was around 36 Celsius degrees and in the car for sure above 50, because the car lacks on cockpit cooling (no tubes, which would provide fresh air from the outside).
I did my stint, 1:20h I was driving in the heat. After I drove back to the pit lane and did the driver change, I was delighted that I did a good job and we were on our way to win.
Alex – my team mate – had a small collision with 2 another cars, but still could drive on. A few laps later we had to give up the race because of technical problems.
We did exactly the half of the race distance (52 laps out of 104 laps), so we were classified and got the points for the 4th position.
